Armchair Boogie formed in 2015 on a front porch in the college town of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. They can be defined by their pickin' skills and infectious grooves. Augie Dougherty (banjo, vocals) and Ben Majeska (guitar, vocals) began playing under the name before becoming complete with the addition of Eli Frieders (bass) and Denzel Connor (drums) as the driving rhythm section behind a bluegrass, up-tempo, jammin-funkgrass outfit.

In the spring of 2018 Armchair Boogie moved to Madison, WI and released their first album. During this time they began touring around Wisconsin, the Midwest, and across America. Their journeys on the road have led them to stages such as Blue Ox, Northwest String Summit, John Hartford Memorial Festival, Summer Camp, and Live on King Street. They've had the honor to share the stage with The Infamous Stringdusters, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, The Dead South, Kitchen Dwellers, Pert Near Sandstone, Trout Steak Revival, and have jammed with many more.

Far Out West blends rock, funk, and Americana into seamless and poignant instrumental improvisations to create a one-of-a-kind sound. Their uplifting original songs feature powerful vocals and strong arrangements, giving their jams a solid platform from which to launch and evolve.

Far Out West's love of performing is always apparent through the crowd's consistent response, bouncing along to the band's infectious and high-spirited grooves. Their energy and love for music is palpably delightful, and their in-the-pocket, virtuosic playing intrigues party animals and discerning listeners alike. The band has played notable events like Northwest String Summit, 4 Peaks Music Festival, Beltane Music Festival, Schweitzer Mountain's Fall Fest, Juniper Jam, and Oregon Brewer's Festival, and has been featured alongside notable artists like Becca Stevens, Jeff Austin Band, Dirty Revival, World's Finest, and Jelly Bread. $10

Far Out West brings a unique and energetic brand of funk that features groovy beats and rootsy vocals. The quartet performs a spectrum of sounds; their original songs fuse together soulful folk-inspired lyrics with crunchy instrumental endeavors guided by the stylings of jazz and rock. Popular cover songs by artists like James Brown, The Grateful Dead, The New Mastersounds, and Sharon Jones are also often sprinkled into the set list. Far Out West has been performing around the Pacific Northwest since 2016 and consists of Liz Chibucos (guitar and vocals), Chad Kimbler (mandolin), Danny Lee (bass), and Forest Carter (drums).
